The Banff International Research Station (BIRS) is proud to host the 2nd Career & Innovation Hub in partnership with Atlantic Association for Research in the Mathematical Sciences (AARMS), Canadian Society of Applied and Industrial Mathematics (CAIMS), Mitacs, Le Centre de Recherches Mathématiques (CRM), Data Science Nexus, The Fields Institute, the Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences PIMS, University of Alberta, University of British Columbia, University of Manitoba, University of Montreal and Memorial University. The program will run from November 12, 2021 to June 2022.

The Career & Innovation Hub is a series of themed seminars and workshops culminating in a career fair at BIRS in 2022. The program is designed to connect the upcoming math science workforce with technology companies in emerging fields. The Career & Innovation Hub provides a unique opportunity for students to see how their skills are valued in industry, and what employers are seeking when hiring for positions that require mathematical, statistical, and computational backgrounds.

Similar to the 1st CIH, each event will be based on an area of interest in the job market, featuring talks from industry and academic leaders. Participants will have opportunities to interact with speakers in Q&A/workshop settings, pick up on new opportunities and emerging trends and and hone their quantitative and communication skills to meet evolving needs.

Events are free but registration is mandatory due to space constraints.
